Music and Medicine

The School of Music has teamed up with the Carver College of Medicine on a podcast / video series called "Music and Medicine." The series teams student musicians and music faculty with physicians and healthcare providers from the University of Iowa to present musical performances along with commentary about how to care for the health of their primary instruments: their bodies.

Hearing Health for Musicians Project [HH4M]: 

What is it?

  • The mission of the HH4M project is to help music faculty and students to protect their hearing for a lifetime of music enjoyment. 
  • HH4M provides information and resources to help you prevent hearing loss or cope with hearing problems. 
  • HH4M is a collaboration by faculty and students in the School of Music, Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, and the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery.
