Ten Minute Play Festival Submissions

The Annual Undergraduate Ten-Minute Play Festival is now accepting submissions! If you are an undergraduate enrolled at the University of Iowa for both the Fall and Spring semesters, you can submit up to two ten-minute scripts for consideration. A formatting sample is available here.

The deadline to submit is Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. You can submit them online here: https://workflow.uiowa.edu/form/tenminute.

Because of the nature of this festival, we’re unable to produce plays with complicated technical demands, such as involved fight and/or dance choreography, extensive intimacy coordination, prop gun usage that requires gun safety training, etc. Plays with simpler production elements have a better chance of being selected.

Join Our Email Groups

The Theatre Department maintains a Theatre Production Microsoft 365 Group just for production meeting schedules and agendas. If you are attending production meetings for Mainstage shows, Galleries, Workshops, Readings, Honors Projects, or special events, please join this group.

To join the Production Group:

1. In Outlook, navigate to the People tab (usually on the lefthand side of the screen).
2. Under People, select Go to Groups.
3. If you aren't directed to the Groups Home page, select Home (top left of the screen).
4. At the top of the Groups Home page select Discover groups.
5. Search for Theatre Production and click the Join button.

We also maintain a Theatre Audition Microsoft 365 Group just for audition information. If you would only like to receive emails about upcoming auditions, please join this group.

To join the Audition Group:

1. In Outlook, navigate to the People tab (usually on the lefthand side of the screen).
2. Under People, select Go to Groups.
3. If you aren't directed to the Groups Home page, select Home (top left of the screen).
4. At the top of the Groups Home page select Discover groups.
5. Search for Theatre Audition and click the Join button.
